Hugo Sutton, MD, FRCS(C)IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic, Langley, BCDr. Hugo Sutton received his medical degree in 1970 from the London University in England. He completed his ophthalmology training at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he received his certified specialist status in 1977. He remains on staff at the University of British Columbia as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Sutton was instrumental as the lead teacher of cataract surgery at the University Eye Care Centre between 1987-1991, and has completed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries with lens implantation. In 1991, he founded the Broadway Eye Surgery Centre, the first clinic in Canada devoted solely to laser refractive surgery. Dr. Sutton has been engaged in pioneering laser refractive treatment for presbyopia, and ultimately is responsible for bringing Laser Blended Vision to IRIS patients. Dr. Sutton has completed more than 40,000 laser refractive procedures. |
