Passion for Health
IRIS Mundial
IRIS is committed on an international level to support IRIS Mundial, a group comprised of optometrists, opticians and ophthalmologists who volunteer medical services to promote better vision in third world countries. Each year IRIS pledges $10.00 from every pair of glasses sold across the country during the month of February. In 2012, IRIS raised a total of $114,000 for IRIS Mundial.

IRIS Challenge to Defeat Cancer
The IRIS Challenge to Defeat Cancer is a non-profit project that raised funds and donated them to two cancer research organizations (Jason Funds and CSSSM). The IRIS Challenge to Defeat Cancer was a cross country cycling trip, by a team of three individuals, including the President of IRIS The Visual Group Dr. Francis Jean, his brother Rémi Jean, and longtime friend Gérald Carrier. The trip began in Vancouver, BC on June 10, 2011 and ended in the hometown of the Jean family, Baie-Comeau, QC on August 6, 2011. The team cycled a total of 6000 kilometers.

IRIS is the official eyecare provider for Canada’s Alpine Ski Teams and a Platinum Sponsor of Rogers Cup Tennis. The Rogers Cup is Canada’s largest and most prestigious stop on the world professional tennis tour. We take pride in our support of Canada’s athletes. Our commitment reflects the passion of our people for sports, our heritage and eyecare.
The IRIS Cycling Team
The IRIS Cycling Team was founded in 1999 by Claude Crépeau with the help of Dr. Francis Jean, Optometrist and President of IRIS The Visual Group. The IRIS Cycling Team promotes mountain and road cycling and throughout the year, they participate in multiple provincial and national competitions with support from IRIS. The team members share the same passion and spirit of competition and continue to grow in number every year.
Aleksandra Wozniak
IRIS is proud to sponsor Canada’s top-ranked female tennis player, Aleksandra Wozniak. As one of Canada’s most promising stars on the world stage, we have been following her successes closely. Aleksandra recently cracked into the Top 30 best female tennis players.
Passion for Education
IRIS is instrumental in furthering optometry in Quebec and across the country. IRIS provided $600,000 to the School of Optometry in Montreal to rebuild their dispensary. The design provided all of the benefits and features of an IRIS location. This donation is the largest ever received by the school of optometry from a private donor and resulted in a cutting edge teaching and training facility.
IRIS operates the first Canadian residency program for Optometry at the Langley IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic in partnership with the University of Portland. The fully accredited 12-month program, now in its 5th year, attracts applicants from all over North America.

IRIS is a proud supporter of the Canadian Coalition of Eyecare Professionals (CCEPRO), a non-profit organization of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and Opticians collaborating to ensure the highest standard of care across Canada.
