July 17 marks the tenth anniversary of the death of IRIS Founder and President, Dr Francis Jean. A larger-than-life man, Dr. Jean was driven by an immense passion for optometry and quality care. But more than that, he had a deep love of people.
A man with a big heart
Dr. Francis Jean used to conclude every e-mail, meeting or presentation with "Love you all". This sincere gesture revealed his deep attachment to all those who worked with him. He made sure he knew the name of every IRIS employee and enjoyed recognizing good work and celebrating teamwork.
Dr Francis Jean Day
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of his departure, a special Dr. Francis Jean Day will be held in all IRIS boutiques. A virtual wall of recognition will be available to everyone, enabling people to write messages of gratitude, admiraGon or kind words to a colleague, member of head office or senior management.
Each employee will also receive cards with the inscription "Love You All". These cards can be used to write a word of thanks or recognition to a colleague, customer or partner, and hand-delivered to them. This simple but meaningful gesture perpetuates the spirit of gratitude and camaraderie that Dr. Jean so cherished.
Tribute at IRIS Vision 2024 national conference
