We have to admit that we’ve been a bit obsessed with smoothie bowls lately. They are so easy to prepare and just as delicious to eat! May this season bring us a lot of fresh fruits to prepare this delicious breakfast!
Here is one of our favourite recipes. It is loaded with nutrients that are essential to maintain a good eye health! Strawberries are packed with vitamin C, so they may help to protect your eyes from age-related diseases and keep the connective tissue and blood vessels around your eyes healthy. Pineapple is also rich in vitamin C, antioxydants and minerals like manganese and potassium. It helps fight against cell damage and reduces the risk of macular degeneration.
- 1/2 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup coconut milk
- chia seeds (to taste)
- 1/2 banana
- 1/3 cup blueberries
In a food processor, blend together the strawberries, pineapple and the coconut milk until the mixture is smooth. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with chia seeds, the half banana, blueberries and some fresh strawberries.
