World Sight Day is an international awareness held annually on the second Thursday of October. World Sight Day will take place this year on Thursday, October 13. World Sight Day is coordinated by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).

World Sight Day is a reminder to you to love your eyes. With its global partners, sponsors and members, IAPB invites you to think about the importance of your eye health and how you can protect and keep them healthy today and in the long term.

World Sight Day is also an opportunity to bring global attention to the importance of eye health for everyone, everywhere.

Eye health impacts education, employment, quality of life, poverty, and many other sustainable development goals. On this World Sight Day, we want organizations to unite to encourage governments, businesses, institutions and individuals to demand universal eye health access on every continent actively.

Have you heard of IRIS Mundial? IRIS Mundial is a multidisciplinary group of optometrists, opticians, ophthalmologists and support staff who work voluntarily with the most disadvantaged populations in collaboration with local partners. IRIS Mundial's mission is to offer quality preventive and curative optometry and ophthalmology services to people in developing countries and people in need in Canada.

With values such as solidarity, excellence, knowledge sharing, empowerment and respect for cultures, we contribute to the various objectives of World Sight Day.

IRIS, unique all together.
