About the collection
Made from a combination of acetate and stainless steel, the eyewear collection is handcrafted by master artisans in a London workshop. Each Catch London frame is inspired by the brightness and colour of some of London's roads, squares and neighborhoods.
Each Catch London frame is handcrafted in West London. The workshop is located 20 minutes from the heart of the city, which explains why each frame is named after an iconic street. The workshop also serves as a creative space, with a massage room, a creative Lego room and a rooftop bar. The master craftsmen work and produce some of the most innovative frames in the collection.
Cruella!
British eyewear designer Tom Davies created eyewear for the characters in Disney's Cruella. Set in 1970s London at the height of the punk rock revolution, the feature film traces the rebellious beginnings of one of cinema's most famous and fashionable villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil.
Tom used the Catch London Acetate Kitchen to create unique acetate plates and patterns for the frames to ensure that the 1970s reproductions were perfect.
Tom was initially asked to create frames for the Baroness (Emma Thompson). But while researching the period, he noticed that almost everyone back then (before contact lenses and laser surgery) wore glasses. Working closely with the film's multi-award-winning costume designer Jenny Beavan, Tom was commissioned to provide glasses for almost every member of the cast - a total of 120 frames. Several pairs were created for Emma Stone to follow her metamorphosis from Estella to Cruella.
