Kim Boutin is a Quebec short-track speed skater, a member of the Canadian national team. At her first Olympic Games, in Pyeong Chang in 2018. Kim Boutin was the only Canadian triple medalist, confirming her selection as Canada's flag bearer at the closing ceremony of these Games.

Kim is only the fourth Canadian athlete and the second woman to win at least three medals for the country at the same Olympic Winter Games. She is also the second woman in the world to win medals in all three individual short-track speed skating events at the same Olympic Winter Games.

Kim loves to innovate in her sport and always strives for excellence. It takes hard work, passion and unconditional love for her sport to achieve this.

Kim Boutin's days start at 8:00 am, or 10:00 am, depending on whether she begins her training on the ice, in the gym, or on her bike. She trains six days a week, twice a day, for a total of 36 hours a week. Each year, Kim Boutin works with her trainer to target a specific area that she wants to work on. She puts in the effort and rigour for the next competition.

Short track skating is a mix of power and strategy. Everything has to be optimal, powerful and perfect.

On her day off, Kim studies. She is currently studying special education. Otherwise, she knits and enjoys time with her family.

At the age of six, Kim started skating, wanting to emulate her brother, who was already skating. She likes short-track speed skating because there is always something to work on, as it requires intelligence and strength, both physically and mentally.
