IRIS North York Partners With the Medical Arts Optical Centre

We are thrilled to announce that the teams at IRIS North York and the Toronto Medical Arts Optical Centre have been working together under the same roof since December of 2019! Perry Steigner, licensed optician and owner of the MAO Centre explained that because of its business model, IRIS was a perfect fit for his optical store. Both businesses have the same philosophy when it comes to patient care and he was excited to be able to offer his patients the huge variety of lens and frame options available at IRIS North York.

The Medical Arts Optical Centre opened its doors back in June of 1993 and for 26 years, Perry Steigner has strived to meet and exceed his customers’ needs. He has always been attentive to technical detail and made sure to always ensure that his patients get the very best in eyewear. Rose Chiarot, licensed optician since 1984, has also been working at the MAO Centre for 20 years. She is experienced in all aspects of the eyewear business and it is undeniable that she has a keen eye for fashion trends.

The pair has been working with the team of IRIS North York for a little more than a month now and they have been doing amazingly well. IRIS North York is lucky to be able to count on Dr. Aliyana Shabo, B.Sc., Optometrist, Dr. Fontini Koutsogiannopoulos, Optometrist, Dr. Supan Parikh, B.Sc., Optometrist, Stanya Varatharajah, Optician and store manager, as well as Debol Thomas and Isha Sajid who have joined the team in fall of 2019.

The team members from both the MAO and IRIS North York are involved in the community. Stanya volunteers at the Amica retirement home to help clean and adjust seniors’ glasses and, Rose donates to the North York general hospital and to the sick kids’ hospital on a monthly basis. This year, they’ve also donated the store’s Christmas decorations to the Christie Ossignoton Neighbourhood Centre, a local men’s shelter.

This IRIS location has been able to consolidate its loyal clientele since the opening of its doors back in 2009 and the team are now pleased to gradually welcome the many patients from the Medical Arts Optical Center. These new patients will be able to enjoy the very large number of frames available at this store! They will be able to find frames from many premium brands such as Lafont, Burberry, Dior and JF Rey, amongst others.

If you are in the North York region, drop by your local IRIS store to meet the wonderful team!
