The IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic is very proud to have a new ophthalmologist on its team of professionals.
We would like to introduce you to Dr. Elizabeth Fortin, ophthalmologist. Last June, she began her practice in refractive surgery at the IRIS Ophthalmology Clinic.
Dr. Elizabeth Fortin is originally from Quebec’s Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region. After having completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Sherbrooke, she pursued a Fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and completed the Clinical Effectiveness Program at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Fortin then went on to join Harvard Medical School as an instructor and as a full-time ophthalmologist at both the general ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology departments of Massachusetts Eye and Ear.
In recent years, Elizabeth served as a principal investigator for the GenSight REFLECT and REGERERA NAION clinical trials. She was a guest speaker at various conferences in North America, Europe and Asia, and is the co-founder of the AEGEAN neuro-ophthalmology meeting. She is a member of the editorial board of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Journal, co-chair of the technological committee of the North American Neuro Ophthalmology Society and a member of the board of directors of the Sumaira’s Foundation for NMO.
Above all, Dr. Elisabeth Fortin possesses exceptional human qualities. Refined, passionate, human and visionary, she embraces the values of IRIS and reflects the personality of the brand. It is with much enthusiasm that she returned to continue her practice in Quebec to allow our patients to experience better vision.
