Which Contact Lens Brand Should You Trust?

We know that trying to choose the right contact lenses can be very tricky for our patients. Each brand offers a wide variety of products with names that all sound more innovative than the last, and they all promise to provide you with the best vision and ultimate comfort.

At IRIS, eye care is our passion. We care about providing you with solutions that will improve your vision and eye health. That’s why when we decided on which providers we trust for our patients, our Optometrists were very careful in selecting the highest quality brands that they would wear themselves.

Here are, in no particular order, the three contact lens providers we trust:

Coopervision

Coopervision contact lenses are sold in over 100 countries around the world. Their parent company, Coopercompanies, was founded in 1958, and they started selling medical devices globally in 1967. The Coopervision branch was incorporated in 1980 and focused solely on lenses for the eyes. In 2005, CooperVision became the world’s third-largest soft contact lens company. The brand is well-regarded in the industry because it provides advancements in ocular science by researching and creating new technologies to create more comfortable lenses that will remain hydrated for longer.

Acuvue

The brand became well-known when they invented the world’s first soft disposable contact lenses in 1988. Since then, Acuvue lenses are worn by more people than any other brand. Their most recent innovations include contact lenses that can sense lighting conditions in your environment and seamlessly adapts from clear to dark! You might be familiar with their parent company: Johnson & Johnson, which creates products that are well known and trusted all around the world.

Bausch + Lomb

One of the oldest and most experienced companies that provide ocular products is Bausch + Lomb. The company was founded in 1853 in Rochester, New York. By 1903, the firm had been issued patents for microscopes, binoculars, and even a camera shutter based on the eye’s reaction to light. They created the lenses used in the cameras that took the first satellite pictures of the moon! Today, they offer contact lenses for various conditions, from glaucoma to retinal diseases and provide incredible surgical products. Fun fact, they originally designed the famous Aviator sunglasses!
