For over 20 years, IRIS has been a proud supporter of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation. First involved in the Charles-Bruneau Golf Omnium, IRIS team members traded in their golf clubs for their bikes in 2014 to participate in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau.
The 27th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau came to a close on Friday, July 7. Pedalling on one of 11 circuits, 770 cyclists covered more than 2,345 kilometres in support of the cause, raising a net total of $3,550,000.
IRIS' participation in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau enables the Charles-Bruneau Foundation to pursue its mission of offering children with cancer the best chances of recovery by funding research and developing projects in pediatric hemato-oncology.
Congratulations to Eric Babin, President of IRIS, The Visual Group and all those who participated in the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, from near and far. IRIS's involvement once again affirms the Foundation's commitment to working together so that all children with cancer can be cured and live healthy lives.
This year, the heat impacted many, as cyclists had to battle extreme temperatures, with temperatures soaring over 40 degrees with the humidity. The added challenge brought an even greater sense of accomplishment, and it was with smiles on their faces that the cyclists crossed the finish line.
The amount raised in this 27th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau shows how important every donation is and how much of a difference it makes to the lives of the 2,000 children who receive cancer treatment yearly. Research advances, enabling more children to be cured and live healthy lives.
Thank you to all IRIS team members for their support, and thank you to all our donors. Thanks to the generosity of our people, we enable children to say, "When I grow up, I'll be cured."
