A great way to give an old pair of glasses a new life is to donate them to an association. At IRIS, we collect eyewear to redistribute it through our organization IRIS MUNDIAL, which has been helping people in need get eyeglasses they need for over 20 years. Thanks to this organization, we can offer eye care services and eyeglasses to underprivileged populations.
It's easy to donate your glasses! You will find a collection box in all IRIS stores. Simply bring your pair to your next visit or eye exam.
Each month, a team of volunteers collects, cleans and sorts them according to the lenses.
Keep in mind that the person receiving your old pair may only have this one pair for the rest of their life. That's why it's important that the pair you're donating is not broken or scratched.
Don't hesitate to donate your old glasses, whether they are reading glasses, prescription glasses or sunglasses. Drop them off in the box provided at any IRIS store! Our organization redistributes them free of charge to children, women and men who will be able to see the world better.
Sell your old glasses
If you prefer to resell your glasses, there are specialized online sites that will allow you to easily find new buyers. Look at second-hand sites on the Internet or social media.
All you have to do is create an account. Then, you can put photos of your glasses and the prices at which you wish to sell them.
It is important to know that you will only be able to resell them for the value of the frame. There is little chance that the person who acquires them will need the same vision correction as you do.
