I have been part of the big IRIS family for almost 7 years now.
-Aside from the world of optics, what are your passions/hobbies?
Besides my job, I really like interior design. In my spare time I also paint canvases, I like abstract art.
-What do you do on a daily basis, that ensures that your patients get to experience better vision?
For me, the most important thing is to listen to them and to be able to meet their needs.
-What do you like most about your job?
I really like being close to my patients, especially when they give me free rein for their new style. I like being able to develop a bond of trust with them.

-How long have you been working at IRIS?
I have been working with IRIS since March of 2017 when our store was acquired. I have been in the optical industry since 2013.
-Aside from the world of optics, what are your passions/hobbies?
My passion is my family. We spend our summer months camping. We love being by the ocean and enjoying outdoor life.
-What do you do on a daily basis, that ensures that your patients get to experience better vision?
I strive to educate patients on how much better their vision can be with IRIS. I believe knowledge is power. The more the patient understands about our lenses and how it can help them experience better vision, the better choices we will make together.
-In your opinion, what is the best part of your job?
I absolutely love helping people. It is rewarding watching people discover how much better their vision can be with us. The delivery of new glasses and the reactions I receive, are definitely the best and most rewarding parts of my job.

-How long have you been working at IRIS?
I’ve been an Optician since 1996 and with IRIS since 2001. I started working at IRIS because I researched the company and admired the concept and the mission statement. I believed in quality eyewear at a fair price and to me that’s what IRIS stands for.
-What is the brand of sunglasses or prescription glasses that you wear on a daily basis?
My go to sunglasses have always been Maui Jim’s. I’m a dragon boater so I’m on the water a lot and with my MJ sunglasses I feel I’m protecting my eyes as best as I can. My favourite line for women’s glasses is the FYSH line of frames, they’re fun and colourful, simple and elegant. Great variety for all types of personalities.
-What do you like most about your job?
What I like most about my job is helping clients pick that perfect pair of glasses. We make it a fun experience, we all get involved. Their faces light up when we dispense them. It’s the best feeling in the world is when you dispense first time glasses to a child and they look at everything with wonderment because they are seeing clearly for the first time.
-What do you think makes IRIS different from other optical banners?
At IRIS, we believe in health and vision foremost. It’s great to work for a company that has this standard of care.

I started with IRIS in mid-September of 2018 and I have been happily part of the team for 8 months!
-Aside from the world of optics, what are your passions/hobbies?
I’m a busy mom of an amazing 8-year-old daughter. Between afterschool activities and sports events, we enjoy running, boxing, and having brunch with friends and family!
-What do you do on a daily basis, that ensures that your patients get to experience better vision?
The team and I are dedicated to showing up every day mentally, physically and emotionally. We are ready to connect, empower, educate and support our patients. We help them understand their options and make choices based on their lifestyle and needs.
-In your opinion, what is the best part of your job?
Making somebody’s day! Whether it’s by fixing those busted frames, a quick tweak to improve vision, or just by listening to their story. Seeing the look on their faces and hearing the appreciation they have for our professionals, that's the stuff that melts my heart.
