Early in his career, Mr. Davies moved to Hong Kong, where he held several positions as a product designer. Here, he discovered his passion for eyewear when he realized how good design could change the lives of customers worldwide.
When Mr. Davies founded his eponymous eyewear brand in 2002, he had just moved back to London because he was fed up with his designs being produced to standard cuts and not fitting the wearer correctly. There's no standardized facial feature, so why should there be a standardized eyewear size?
After designing bespoke frames for friends and family, he returned to London and launched his brand based on the bespoke principles of haute couture.
In 2013, Davies inaugurated his creative "personal optician" concept with his first boutique in Sloane Square, offering his analysis service to create bespoke eyewear for his customers.

In 2023, Tom Davies celebrated 26 years since the launch of its bespoke eyewear service and the opening of its new eyewear manufacturing facility in London.
