It’s official, our stores are open again! After spending these past few weeks away from you, we look forward to seeing you again in our stores and are happy to be able to meet your visual eye care needs again!
Even though we all know this a little too well by now, this is just a friendly reminder: COVID-19 is transmitted by droplets that are suspended in the air. When you go to the grocery store, you can just put on a mask, wash your hands, avoid putting your hands on your face and maintain a distance of 6 feet with other people, but when you try on glasses, it gets a little bit more complicated! It is for this reason that we have completely adapted our stores and the way we organize our schedules to manage the arrival of each patient in store. Our teams across Canada have had to work very hard in recent weeks, in order to prepare to receive you. Here are the measures we have put in place to ensure your safety:
1- We see our patients by appointment only.
This measure is taken in order to facilitate the required 6 feet distance between each person. You can contact your IRIS store to make an appointment to try on glasses or for an eye exam. If you want to stock up on contact lenses, it will also be possible to do so in store, but please note that you can also place your order online.
2-We ask our patients to arrive on time.
If you arrive early, we ask that you please wait in your car.
3-You cannot come to your appointment accompanied, except in cases where it is absolutely necessary.
Children, for example, can come accompanied by one parent, because we need to limit the number of people entering the store as much as possible. If you want someone to help you choose your new glasses, we invite you to take photos or to make a video call with the person who will help you make your choice during your fitting.
4-Wearing a mask is mandatory for our patients as well as for the members of our team.
We ask that you bring your own mask with you but we are prepared to provide you with a disposable mask should you forget it at home.
5-Hand cleaning is mandatory as you walk into the store.
And, also, hand sanitizer pumps are located everywhere in the store to allow you to disinfect your hands as often as necessary.
6-Signage has been placed on the floor and throughout the store.
We ask our patients to pay close attention to these.
7- Each instrument, frame and surface are thoroughly disinfected between each patient.
From the door handle to the frames you try on, everything will be disinfected before and after your visit. If you would like to try on a frame, please ask a member of the team for assistance. An Optician or a sales consultant will be happy to assist you with your choice.
8- We added plexiglass panels in several places in the store.
At the cash counter, the frames fitting area and even in the examination room! During your eye exam, you will notice that some the equipment has been adapted: panels have also been added between you and the Optometrist to reduce the exposure between the two of you.
Despite all of these changes, our promise remains the same: our goal is to provide you with the experience of better vision. We are happy to welcome you back in a safe environment. IRIS has the largest network of Optometrists and Opticians in Canada, and it is also your extended family who is very happy to be able to welcome you back again.
See you soon!
