How blue light affects children

Screens are part of our lives and we spend more and more time on our electronics. Even if we wish our children did not suffer the same fate, they also often spend a little too much time in front of a screen. Did you know that children should not spend more than 2 hours per day in front of electronics? By spending time in front of any type of electronic screen, we, like our children, are exposed to blue light.

How to protect your eyes from this blue light?

Here are some tips to reduce your exposure to blue light. Some of these habits are also good tips for your children.

- Avoid using electronic screens at least 2 hours before bedtime

- Choose a warmer (yellow tone), dimmer light for your rooms, this creates a calming effect

- Avoid cold lighting (source of blue light) in places and in objects intended for children (night light, games, game room...)

- Keep at least one forearm distance between your electronics and your eyes, and teach your children this good habit

- Think about reducing the brightness of the screen (a night mode is often available on smartphones, tablets and computers)
